The suffocating weight of the times calls for a breath of fresh air, a regeneration of music. Beneath the joke of the KYLE name lies the firm intention of marrying the magic of today's sounds with the power of Stoner. A new blend of styles, finding in purity a way to synthesize a new path for the combo, at the crossroads of pop, rock, metal and electro. More than a concept, KYLE is the fruit of a human adventure between musicians eager to free themselves from labels. In Bordeaux, Laul and Fred, the unshakeable rhythm section of Sleeppers, a legendary Bordeaux rock combo, curious about all kinds of music, and frustrated by the band's break-up in 2019, wanted to get away from the noise power of their latest opus and try something new.

At Fred's instigation, David PASSICOS, guitarist with ES LO QUE HAY and other figures on the Bordeaux scene, lent his rough guitar to the bass/drums pair to work on the new album. Later joined by Antoine LEROUX, the second guitarist on the Landaise Stoner Garage scene (The Twin Stoners, Pussy Miel), the project gradually took shape, finding its way through trial and error. All that remained was to find a sound director to match these eclectic desires. An old accomplice of the Sleeppers and Lofofora, as well as the Burning Heads and many others, producer and sound engineer Fred Norguet will play a key role in the final coherence of an album capable of housing under its roof, relentless drums, stoner and garage rock guitars, a nonchalant and frenetic bass, 1 previously unreleased featuring, collaborations on 2 tracks with Raf SERE (second guitarist of the Sleeppers), rebellious scansions and realistic lyricism. An adept at pruning and efficiency, Norguet has stripped away the KYLE's finds until the album finds its unity in the catchiness of each track and a science of dynamics that owes as much to noise as to silence. Production choices are made to enhance the lyrics served up by the voice of Laul, who successfully explores a style of singing that alternates between powerful and more melodic vocals, enabling a wider range of emotions to be covered.

Emotions dominated by darkness and rebellious, inner intensity. Helped by his friend Forest, Laul likes to dip his pen in acid to describe the hypocrisy of our society (The Shot, Parked away) and the selfishness of its leaders (The Good, the Bad and The Masked Sin). A sharp eye that doesn't spare its own image and that of the couple (Mind Creep, Unlock), without giving lessons or closing the doors to poetic interpretation. His writing is also capable of introspection, revealing darker sides (Sampling Life, Coping and Relight), and optimism can also shine through in his admiration for the women in his life (Shine on). The graphic envelope that completes this opus was created by the 6th Man of the adventure, Emmanuel Brillet, who succeeded in fleshing out Kyle's universe and personifying the project.
