More widely known for his decades of pivotal contributions to techno as Surgeon, Anthony Child's releases under his own name nonetheless date back to the early 2000s, most notably with his 'Electronic Music from Maui Jungle releases on Editions Mego. A voracious and wide ranging explorer of music and a relentless experimenter, Child continues to travel over the edge of his musical world in search of new forms of expression.

Created as a response to a series of deeply challenging and transformative events over the course of 2025, 'of the Beginning' sees Child deploy his trademark sonic precision to fuse profoundly emotive flourishes with crystalline abstractions in his first studio release for his and Dan Bean's Old Technology Records label.
